Are your facilitators trained in psychology?Yes. Our lead facilitator has a background in neuroscience and psychology, with training in evidence-based approaches such as CBT and trauma-informed care. While this is not a clinical programme, her experience helps shape sessions that are thoughtful, developmentally appropriate, and emotionally attuned.
-
Is this considered therapy? No. No personal issues will be discussed. While grounded in therapeutic principles, our classes are educational and preventive in nature, not clinical intervention.
-
How do you teach emotional intelligence, regulation, or resilience? We use play-based and psychologically grounded methods. For younger kids, it may look like a story about a character who feels left out, followed by a game to practice empathy, and a drawing task to express feelings. For older groups, we might use real-life dilemmas, social scenarios, or roleplay to explore stress, friendships, or identity. We don't just talk about emotions. We teach kids to notice, name, and navigate them through what they see, hear, move, and do so the learning sticks.
-
What should my child bring? We’ll inform you if materials are needed, but typically, just water and a curious heart.
-
What makes Mindful Juniors different from other enrichment or tuition centres?Mindful Juniors focuses on emotional intelligence, resilience, mental wellbeing, and social-emotional learning through brain-based and evidence-informed methods. We are not an academic centre.
-
How do I know if this is suitable for my child?Sessions are designed to be warm, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate. If your child struggles with emotions, friendships, confidence, or stress, this programme can support their growth.
-
My child has been diagnosed with ADHD/ASD. Can they join?Yes, children with ADHD or autism are welcome to join, provided the group format is a good fit for their needs. Our sessions are neurodiversity-affirming and designed to be flexible and inclusive. That said, the programme is not clinical in nature and may not be suitable for children who require one-to-one support. We’re happy to speak with you before enrolment to understand your child better and explore if this environment will support them meaningfully.
-
How do you ensure the content is age-appropriate?Each programme is matched to the child’s cognitive and emotional development, using research-backed frameworks and milestones.
-
What is the difference between what you teach and what they learn in school? While many schools introduce these themes, our approach goes deeper with an emphasis on emotional depth, psychological safety, and real-world application. We guide children to recognise their internal cues, make sense of their emotional patterns, and practice meaningful strategies.
-
Can I stay and observe my child during class? We encourage independence during sessions, and will offer parent feedback summaries and occasional open sessions.
